Robert was a founding partner of Phildrew Ventures with five funds of > US$1bn of assets under management; the business was sold to UBS in 2000. Subsequently, he joined Bridgepoint Capital, managing 10 underperforming assets. In Africa, Robert has mentored two SME funds, is a former trustee of a Malawian microfinance business and chairs a grant-making trust. More recently, he served as a Gatsby Investment Director, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Msingi, East Africa, Interim CIO for the Phatisa food fund deal team and currently serves as a senior adviser to AgDevCo.
