During 2022, Phatisa Food Fund 2 successfully completed new investments:

  • Lona Group, an integrated food manufacture and cold storage operator, and one of the largest citrus and fresh-produce exporters in South Africa. This was a large transaction and we brought in three of our LPs – BII, Norfund, and Finnfund – to join us on Lona’s journey.

  • Manipal, a flexible packaging and gravure printing business (mainly for the food and beverages sector) operating in Kenya and Nigeria.

and our Food Fund 1 exited:

  • Continental Beverage Company, a Côte d’Ivoire-based water business, plus

  • The remaining three investments are all poised for exit in the near future.
