Valentine Chitalu

Valentine is Chairman of Phatisa, MTN (Zambia) and SABMiller (Zambia). He sits on various additional boards. At the Zambia Privatisation Agency, Valentine oversaw the disposal and privatisation of 240 businesses. He was chairman of the Zambia Venture Capital Fund, board member of Commonwealth Africa Investments and Central African Director for CDC Capital Partners.
Duncan Owen
Deputy Chairman
(Mauritius)
Qualified as a chartered accountant and engineer, Duncan was Managing Director of Unilever, Zambia; Business Director – Africa at CDC Capital Partners; and deputy CEO of AFGRI Products. He has completed in excess of 40 change-of-control transactions and has lived and worked in South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Ghana.
Richard Carter
IC Member – Housing Fund
An experienced managing director with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. Skilled in business planning, private sector development, risk management, business development and finance, with a particular focus on the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector. Richard currently serves as Chairman, Programme Investment Committee of the Financial Sector Deepening Trust (Kenya), Investment Committee Pan African Housing Fund Investment Committee and USAID Feed the Future E.A. Climate Smart Agribusiness Investment Steering Committee.
Pravisha Rampal
Head of Investor Relations
Pravisha has more than 20 years’ experience in the finance and private equity sectors, having started her career at Mercantile Bank and moving across to Sasfin Bank. She joined Phatisa in 2012 as the admin manager for all funds under management. Her exposure to the fields of consumer, asset, trade and debtor finance, as well as fund administration, holds her in good stead in carrying out her duties as the recently appointed Phatisa Head of Investor Relations.
Paul Wythe
Chief Operating Officer – Properties
Paul has worked with the likes of Deloitte, Lonrho East Africa, the British Printing Company Limited, Lonrho Africa Plc, and James Finlay Group. He also has extensive international interim management and consultation experience in Africa, from finance, supply chain and project management to restructuring, HR and change management.
